April 2009 The latest PR coup for our client Northumberland Tourism has been to pick up on a highly embarrassing boob by the Canadian state of Alberta which launched a very expensive re-branding programme with a fetching picture of two young children running free on a long, otherwise empty sandy beach. There were plenty of Canadian red faces when it was discovered that the beach had actually nothing to do with Alberta but was watched over by Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland! The PGC machine quickly went in to gear and more than 50 items of national press coverage duly followed worldwide as well as radio pick ups. Go to main story

PGC was born in July 2007 with a single aim: to provide unparalleled results through a tailor-made approach to Travel and Tourism public relations and consultancy. Our approach - based on Paul's 20+ years of working as one of the country's leading travel journalists - focuses on translating our clients' needs into those of the media. Bespoke strategic advice and campaigns are delivered through a team of experienced PR professionals who know exactly how the national and regional media work. It's been one year since we launched PGC and over the past 12 months we've begun working with a range of tour operators and UK and overseas tourist boards. Each was seeking a new kind of PR agency to deliver practical results that attracted more holidaymakers. 2008 has seen a sharp downturn in certain sectors of the industry and yet all our operator clients have seen an increase in bookings - with one enjoying its second best ever year and another 30% up on bookings. If this is the kind of travel PR delivery you're looking for, then why not get in touch with us to find out more. |
